When it comes to crossing highways, a large number of animals all around the world suffer terrible consequences. There was always a significant problem that was ignored, resulting in the deaths of countless animals and humans. As a consequence, several governments and organizations are experimenting with various solutions to these problems. And this is fantastic news from Utah since it allows wildlife to secure their existence, which the roadway had threatened.
The I-80 freeway through Utah has been regarded as the worst area for animal accidents in the last year. In reality, for obvious reasons, there is a 13-mile section of I-80 known as “Slaughter Row.” Over a few years, 142 animals were killed on “Slaughter Row,” including deer, elks, mountain lions, and moose. It was a significant issue until the Utah Division of Wildlife agreed to construct a wildlife overpass to allow the animals to cross the roadway safely.
Animals began utilizing the bridge earlier than planned, even though construction was intended to take longer. That was an encouraging indication. Until the proposal for the overpass came in, many citizens, Non-Profit Organizations. And the authorities attempted to find a solution to this problem. The overpass was erected after a long battle with the government to have the project approved. Everybody is now seeing beneficial outcomes for both humans and wildlife.
