A former soldier wants to treat himself to new teeth and a vacation after converting £18 into more than £92,000 on a horse race accumulator. After five nags romped home on the same afternoon, former Royal Dragoons tank unit paratrooper Alan Roberts landed the jackpot. “I’ve been worried for some time about my teeth, which are practically rotten,” the Yorkshireman, 39, added. I need some new ones, and then I won’t be embarrassed about them.

“It’s the first thing I’m going to do, and then my mother and I are going on vacation to Scarborough.
“She’ll have returned from Benidorm by then, so perhaps she’ll join me.”
At Newmarket and Pontefract, Alan’s selections Gale Force Maya, Nayef Road, Saluti, Subastar, and Desert Angel won in one afternoon. He also stated that while on vacation with his mother, he plans to consider starting a caravan park business with his winnings.
“I’m pleased to pieces to be putting a permanent grin on the face of frequent customer Alan, who had served his nation when he was younger and deserves all the luck in the world,” said Betfred boss Fred Done. Even without his new teeth, he’s already eaten into my profits.”
