An Artist Updated Ugly Old Plates With Humor

Kamilek Majcher, a Berlin-based artist, came up with a unique technique to repurpose unattractive old plates. She embellishes them with amusing words and black humor captions, and the results are hysterical.

Almost all of the artist’s paintings are based on true stories, according to her. “Some are inspired by my closest friend’s frivolous antics, who also happens to be the editor-in-chief for a selection of my top plate captions,” Kamilek explains. : Others are often sparked by overheard gossip, urban observations, or just my current mood. My most inspiring emotional state, it turns out, is a disappointment.”
