Daniela Forti is an Italian glass artist from Chianti, Tuscany, making stunning works of art for over 40 years. The artist creates captivating ‘Jellyfish’ tables using a glass-fusion method that resembles exotic marine animals found in the ocean’s depths.
Daniela claims in her biography that she has always been drawn to the metamorphosis of different glassworking methods and has focused on the union of glass and crystal, finally creating and applying her own interpretation of the materials. It requires a long time and a lot of effort to make glass art as the artist does. To generate complex and exquisite forms, the glass must first be heated to temperatures ranging from 800 to 850°C (1472 – 1562 °F) to reach a fluid condition, and then it must be fused and braided.
