In Memory Of His Deceased Cat, A 75-Year-Old Artist Creates Bush Edits

Richard Saunders, a 75-year-old artist, has a unique method of expressing his love for his dead cat. He produces strange photographs that are digitally altered by substituting real-life vegetation with cat-shaped shrubs. For this project titled “The Topiary Cat,” he has made hundreds of pictures.

Richard stated in an interview that he began this project for pleasure while his cat was still living and that he did not want to continue it after Tolly’s (his cat’s) death. However, his 40K Facebook fans encouraged him to keep going. It, according to Richard, aids individuals in coping with the loss of their pets.
