The incident happened on a Friday, he was 45ft down the sea. After awhile he felt a huge hump and everything went dark.

In WBZ-TV News, he said, “Then I realized, oh my God, I’m in a whale’s mouth… and he’s trying to swallow me, This is it, I’m gonna die.”

Michael was inside the whale’s mouth for like 30 seconds but he was able to breath because of his equipment.

He said, “All of a sudden he went up to the surface and just erupted and started shaking his head. I just got thrown in the air and landed in the water. I was free and I just floated there. I couldn’t believe – I’m here to tell it.”

He says that his last thoughts were about his wife and children but fortunately got rescued by a crew mate in the boat. Finally he ended up getting his treatments done in the Cape Cod Hospital.
