August 19 (UPI) – A New Jersey family on their way home from a trip to North Carolina finds a bathroom break in Maryland. So, it is a lucky place to win the $ 2 million lottery jackpot. Family members told Maryland Lottery officials that they left for New Jersey after a trip to North Carolina and stopped for a bathroom break at the 7-Eleven store in MD, Germantown. And also, the mother of the family said they decided to get the lottery tickets when they stopped. “The cashier thought for some reason we needed cigarettes,” the mother recalled. “Eventually, she realized we needed a lottery and took us to the vending machine.” The family arrived home in New Jersey on July 24 when they learned that they had won a $ 2 million jackpot on one ticket to the Powerball draw.
“I couldn’t believe we matched all the numbers except Powerball,” the mother said. “And I had to download the app. So I can scan the tickets and find out for sure.” With a $ 2 million prize, all tickets except Powerball will be matched. “I had to look at the ticket a few times,” Dad said. “It’s amazing we’re limited to one number.” Especially, the family returned to Maryland to win the prize at Lottery Headquarters in Baltimore. They said the winners intend to pay off their debts and use the remaining money for savings.
