Topshop may have gone out of business and shuttered all of its stores earlier this year, but it is still making fashion waves. The store is currently only available on the e-retailer ASOS, and its most recent release has left customers perplexed by its designs.
Topshop is now offering a pair of light blue denim jeans with bum rips on the back for £42.99 on their website. The front of the jeans is just like any other pair, with no tears. However, as you turn around in the flared trousers, the skin of your bottom cheeks will be exposed. Topshop isn’t the first retailer to release a pair of racy jeans, but fashionistas are outraged.
Customers flocked to social media to express their displeasure with the bizarre jeans.
“I certainly did not just see Topshop selling pants with a real bum rip; I’m talking large hole in the right below the but cheek and charging you £43 for the privilege,” one person said.
The rip is expected to become wider with wear and tear, according to one astute fashion observer. “Every time you sit down and stand up, the rip will become wider,” they explained.
