The famous but extinct ‘Dodo’ bird is not on the face of this planet anymore. But there is a species that has closely resembles it. This is the ‘Nicobar pigeon’, a rare and a truly wonderful animal to set eyes upon. It has a beautiful coat of multi-colored feathers of Blue, Green and Copper.
The reason that these birds own such a vibrant appearance is that their habitats; which are tropical Islands of South East Asia and Pacific. These small islands do not have any native predators to hunt these birds. Although the number of these birds are not specifically counted, their numbers have been threatened the releasing of predators such as cats and rats onto those islands by humans. Proper Conservation of this gorgeous bird is much needed before it too gets extinct just like its relative, the Dodo bird.
