The digital behemoth has come up with something even more incredible: artificial intelligence-based technology that can create images of individuals that don’t exist (AI).
This artificial intelligence technology, known as generative adversarial network (GAN), was first used in 2014. The produced faces were grainy and colorless back then, but now, four years later, we have portraits that seem like actual images.
It took eight weeks for researchers to teach the AI to recognize different styles of faces and create new ‘humans.’
Here are a few of the faces made using the “Style-Based Generator Architecture for GANs.”
It turns out that this technology can do more than make false faces; it can even make ‘fake’ interiors and automobiles.
“These datasets were trained using the setup for 70 million photos for ‘bedroom’ and ‘cats,’ and 46 million for ‘cars,'” says the author.
